The blog post in between.
Nothing heard for a long time is the motto… That’s why from time to time, a Goth blog post on the current state of affairs and what’s currently on our minds. Today’s topic is our planned festivals for the year 2024. Unfortunately, time flies, and we hardly have time to take care of our blog. The gothic scene has somewhat faded into the background.
Not even our regular clubs have drawn us in because time and money were lacking. We are currently driven by external factors: illnesses in the family circle, the search for support, and ultimately the difficult decision to place the affected person in a nursing home to protect them from themselves and to provide them with a dignified, fulfilling remaining life.
When we brought them closer to us to spend more time with them, it was unforeseeable how quickly this illness would transform them into someone else. Alzheimer’s disease is a bitch.
We celebrated Christmas and New Year’s Eve with family. On New Year’s Eve, we expanded the celebration with dear friends from the scene. The highlight of the evening was not the turn of the year itself but the beautiful marriage proposal and their acceptance at our home. We are proud to have been part of this moment and to have experienced the emotions. We look forward to their upcoming celebration.
Sadly, we started the New Year on a sad note. Darkangel’s last of three cats passed away just before his 18th birthday. A fighter who will always be with us, not just in our thoughts.
This year, we plan to really dive into the festival season, if nothing intervenes. Naturally, we’ll be attending the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig in May. Before that, we’ll be at the Depeche Mode concert in Cologne in April. In July, we’ll be at Castrum Nigra. At the end of July, we’ll be at Amphi in Cologne, and we’ll wrap up the year in Hildesheim at Mera Luna. We’re looking forward to it.
